Assassin’s Creed will hit cinemas on New Year’s Day

Twentieth Century Fox has confirmed the official UK release date for the upcoming movie ASSASSIN’S CREED – January 1st, 2017.

At the moment, the release date does seem so long away, especially when you look at the year 2017, but it is certainly a good time for the movie to hit cinemas. That’s our New Year’s Day plans sorted already: ASSASSIN’S CREED tickets, popcorn and probably a mighty hangover too in the darkness of the cinema!

Michael Fassbender has taken on the lead role in ASSASSIN’S CREED and is joined by Marion Cotillard (THE DARK KNIGHT RISES, INCEPTION), who starred with each other in the 2015 film, MACBETH. The duo are joined by Michael K. WilliamsJeremy Irons (“The Borgias”) and Brendan Gleeson (EDGE OF TOMORROW).

Fassbender is once again working with MACBETH’s director, Justin Kurzel who is also calling the shots on ASSASSIN’S CREED too.

Here is the official synopsis for the movie: Through a revolutionary technology that unlocks his genetic memories, Callum Lynch (Michael Fassbender) experiences the adventures of his ancestor, Aguilar, in 15th Century Spain.

Callum discovers he is descended from a mysterious secret society, the Assassins, and amasses incredible knowledge and skills to take on the oppressive and powerful Templar organization in the present day.
