High-Rise

A new poster has been released for the upcoming movie HIGH-RISE, and as you can see in the bonnet of the car in the poster, someone is plummeting to the ground in dramatic fashion…

The film stars Tom Hiddleston, Sienna Miller, Jeremy Irons and Luke Evans, who are all in action in the trailer above.

High-Rise is an adaptation of J.G. Ballard’s 1975 sci-fi novel of the same name is being given the big screen treatment and the man helming the adaptation is Ben Wheatley.

High-Rise

The film centres on a new residential tower built on the eve of Margaret Thatcher’s rise to power, at the site of what will soon become the world’s financial hub. Designed as a luxurious solution to the problems of the city, it is a world apart.

Enter Robert Laing (Hiddleston), a young doctor seduced by the high-rise and its creator, the visionary architect Anthony Royal (Jeremy Irons). Laing discovers a world of complex loyalties, and also strikes up a relationship with Royal’s devoted aide Charlotte (Miller).

But rot has set in beneath the flawless surface. Sensing discord amongst the tenants, Laing meets Wilder, a charismatic provocateur bent on inciting the situation. Wilder initiates Laing into the hidden life of the high-rise and Laing is shocked at what he sees. As the residents break into tribal factions, Laing finds himself in the middle of mounting violence. Violence that he also finds emerging in himself.

In the trailer, which was released a few weeks ago (you can watch it below), we see a rather normal looking Laing, played by Tom Hiddleston resting on his bed, dancing down a corridor with female flight attendants, in the gym, playing sports, enjoying time with women – and then of course we meet a rather dysfunctional Laing, who is covered in blood and we see a flash of Sienna Miller’s character being dragged out of a room… It’s all going on then!

So, as we have gathered in the first promo, things don’t necessarily go all that well…
