Alicia Vikander

Alicia Vikander is definitely one of Hollywood’s busiest actresses – she is everywhere! Now she will also be adding another film to her growing CV: SUBMERGENCE.

Alicia Vikander will be diving into a role for the romantic thriller SUBMERGENCE, in which she will play a deep sea explorer, and star opposite James McAvoy.

The film is based on J.M. Ledgard’s book of the same name and will be brought to the big screen under the keen eye of Wim Wenders. The film follows two lovers, one a captive of jihadist fighters in Somalia and the other an explorer currently searching the ocean depths, who use their memories of their intense romance to get them through their current life-threatening circumstances.

The film, which was adapted for screen by Erin Dignam, is hoping to get production underway in late March 2016 in various locations in Europe and Africa. Cameron Lamb will produce the project which is being financed by Paris-based Backup Media, which was responsible for financing the Oscar-winning film Still Alice.

The Swedish-born actress has starred in some superb film to date, including EX MACHINA, THE MAN FROM U.N.C.L.E, TESTAMENT OF YOUTH and ANNA KARENINA.

Vikander is currently on the big screen alongside Eddie Redmayne in the Tom Hooper drama THE DANISH GIRL, a role which has plummeted her to the top of the awards season speculation picking up a coveted gong for her performance.

Alicia Vikander is currently busy filming the next JASON BOURNE movie with star Matt Damon.
