Alec Baldwin (THE DEPARTED, MISSION IMPOSSIBLE 5) and Danny Glover (LETHAL WEAPON) headline the cast of ANDRÒN – The Black Labyrinth, a sci-fi action adventure movie from AMBI Pictures Group, the movie development, finance, production and distribution group owned and run by Andrea Iervolino and Lady Monika Bacardi.

The movie begins when a group of young men and women awake in a dark, claustrophobic maze. They don’t remember who they are or how they got stuck in the black labyrinth of Andron. The group must learn to decipher codes, understand the signals, and beat the tests in this mysterious and bizarre place. Out of necessity they struggle to form a bond to survive, while the outside of the world watches and wages on their fate.

Francesco Cinquemani wrote the screenplay and is directing the film, marking his feature directorial debut and principal photography will commence this month in Malta, in collaboration with the Malta Film Commission, and in Italy.

Alec Baldwin and Danny Glover will be supported by a cast that includes Michelle Ryan (EASTENDERS), Skin (lead singer from band Skunk Anansie), Jon Kortajarena (A SINGLE MAN), Gale Harold (QUEER AS FOLK) and Leo Howard (“G.I. JOE: THE RISE OF THE COBRA).

“The story of ‘Andròn’ is enough to excite sci-fi fans worldwide but when you add actors like Alec Baldwin and Danny Glover, the meter rises even higher and audiences expect something very special, which is what we plan to deliver,” says Iervolino. “We’re very excited to add this film to our production slate and eager to get to work on a film we believe has great breakout potential.”

AMBI’s burgeoning production arm (AMBI Pictures) is already on pace to produce eight feature films in 2014 including the Barry Levinson directed drama “The Humbling,” starring Al Pacino, the crime-thriller “Hope Lost,” starring Danny Trejo, Mischa Barton and Michael Madsen; the action-thriller “2047 – Sights of Death”; the animated feature films “Arctic Justice: Thunder Squad” and “East End;” the Italian dramedy “Tre Tocchi” and actress Martina Stella’s debut screenplay “O.O.B.I.” – a psychological thriller that the company will produce.
