The trailer leaks online before the intended preview, but Marvel responds by tweeting official version within hours.

Avengers: Age of Ultron
Robert Downey Jr plays Tony Stark in Age of Avengers.

The most anticipated trailer of the year, AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON, was not supposed to be released until next week as we reported on Wednesday, but after it was leaked online on the powerhouse that is Marvel Universe decided to release it themselves.

Their reaction to the tweet was perfect – we will just tweet it out early then:

Avengers
Releasing it officially was the best response to the leak by Marvel.

Originally the intended day as announced  during the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D TV series was next week and despite the annoyance that it was leaked, at least we now don’t have to wait so long to see it!

We are so excited by the release that we have practically floated all the way up to Midgard itself!

As predicted, the trailer really is a tease, as it gives tantalising glimpses of further characters and references from the Marvel’s comics.

AGE OF ULTRON sees Tony Stark trying his hand at creating an international peacekeeping force of droids controlled by the self-aware A.I. Ultron. Despite his best intentions for the creation, hoping it would aid the Avengers, as always it causes a spot of bother, cue the entrance of Wanda “Scarlet Witch” Maximoff and Pietro Quicksilver” Maximoff…

In the trailer we see the said Ultron, the villain of this sequel and its impressive armour from the Iron Man comics, Captain America kicks open a door in some kind of mountain fortress and  Andy Serkis, the Lord of the Rings’ Gollum, makes a brief appearance looking rather haggard, but we aren’t sure just yet as to how his character becomes entwined in it all, but we are hoping to see some of his motion-capture magic for Marvel.  Fingers crossed…

James Spader provides the dulcet and fabulously intimidating voice of Ultron, but we are still yet to see/hear Paul Bettany, who normally does the voice of Jarvis, Stark’s AI sidekick and he is rumoured to be playing the Vision, a deceased superheroes’ mind placed in one of Ultron’s earlier bodies.

The film, written and directed by Joss Whedon, has an impressive ensemble starring Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, Chris Hemsworth, Samuel L. Jackson and Cobie Smulders who are all reunited once again.

Also on board for the first time, as mentioned above are James Spader (as Ultron), Paul Bettany, Don Cheadle, Elizabeth Olsen, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Andy Serkis and Thomas Kretschmann.

AGE OF ULTRON lands in the UK on April 24 next year.
