Since Spencer Matthews, star of MADE IN CHELSEA, received his marching orders from ITV’s reality TV hit show I’M A CELEBRITY… GET ME OUT OF HERE! due to a secret steroid addiction, it has now been revealed that his management wants him to receive treatment for his addiction by checking into rehab.

Matthews was told to leave the jungle after an apparent drugs row with the show’s bosses. Since then Spencer has been quoted as saying: “I had intended to come off the pills gradually, but there was no time to do this before I reached the jungle. I pushed back but ultimately the show’s duty of care prevailed and bags had to be packed”.

A source close to Spencer has also revealed that he kept his secret from his family, which has left them utterly heartbroken and went onto say: “He has one of the best teams in the business around him and they are having talks about how they can save his career. Their main priority is looking after Spencer and making sure he is on the straight and narrow. His family are distraught because they didn’t know what was going on. This has come out of the blue”.

After being in the jungle a mere couple of days this may have come as a shock to many fans and viewers as Spencer seemed to be thriving during his exciting, albeit short, stay in camp. Despite details about Spencer’s rehab flying around, which Jamie Laing was reluctant to comment on, it’s now been reported, by fellow MADE IN CHELSEA star and close friend, that Spencer is doing “great”.

For any MADE IN CHELSEA watchers, Jamie Laing is well known for his consistent loyalty to the “boys”, so it shouldn’t come as a surprise that play boy Spencer has his “full support”. Laing himself claims he steers “well clear” of steroids and it’s unlikely we’ll see him do a stint in the jungle any time soon.

Get well soon, Spenny !
